Reconstruction
When a server dies, the site on it may not be wholly gone. Copies of its pages can survive in the Wayback Machine, or in a backup someone kept. We can't promise recovery, and we won't. What we offer first is a survey.
The survey
We search everything that might hold a piece of the site and send you a list of what survives, page by page, with where each piece came from. That list is the deliverable. Before any rebuild is discussed, you see exactly what the record holds.
The standard
If enough survives to be worth keeping, we rebuild. The standard is best available, with provenance: each recovered page is rebuilt to the best surviving copy, and each recovered page notes where it came from. We make no stronger claim.
We have done this for a real site: read how pantspantspants.biz came back.
What it costs
The survey comes first. The rebuild is quoted after the survey. The finished archive is kept for ten years, like any site we host.
