the deep archive
For a site whose content matters beyond its pages, we go further than keeping it. We read the whole site and build an index of it: every work, every person, every idea, and how they connect. We hunt down what was written about the site elsewhere, and where a review survives only in a library's crawl we keep the full text with a note saying where it was found. The index ships inside the archive as one plain text file, readable in any editor, and browsable online. The archive stops being a copy and becomes a record.
Already built
The index of pantspantspants.biz lives inside its archive at foreverhost.ing/pantspantspants.biz/index.ic, and the same index is browsable at iseecaves.com. The story of that job is told on its own page.
What it costs
A deep archive begins with the same survey as every job, and the work is quoted after the survey.
